As a beginner to SEO, Yahoo! is probably a good choice for you to target. It is one of the easier search engines to manipulate, and it is a good traffic source: You will see your work pay off.
Yahoo! cares about everything. On-page factors such as meta-tags, keyword density, readability based on various algorithms, and possibly thousands of other variables. When optimizing for Yahoo! you also have to keep going on the off-page factors, mainly being links. Just like Google, Yahoo cares about links for their quality, as well as their quantity. False Rumors The business of SEO is full of rumors, and speculation. Unfortunately, people pick this speculation up as the truth, or something that has been tested, and commonly, that isn’t the case. We’ve taken the rumors, and rewrote them to be truths. Yahoo! does care about meta tags, it is not a significant part of the algorithm, however, they are used. Keyword spamming, unfortunately, does have an effect on Yahoo! Linking to Yahoo! has no influence on your ranking.
